How Fezeli Dermatology was born:

We started with a question most skincare companies never ask: why does skin age so much faster after menopause?

Not the surface-level answer. Not "collagen declines." That's true, but it doesn't explain why every collagen product you've tried barely made a difference.

The real answer was buried in a 2020 study from the journal Aging Cell. Researchers found that post-menopausal skin contains 42% more stored iron than pre-menopausal skin. Without monthly periods clearing iron from the body, it accumulates in tissue — including skin. That iron triggers a chemical reaction called the Fenton Reaction, generating free radicals that destroy collagen and elastin from the inside out.
